Square 1682: Dining and Imbibing Out of the Box
Square 1682 is two stories of contemporary style, chic and urban ecology, situated in Philadelphia's charismatic City Center neighborhood. The restaurant's name is a tribute to nearby Rittenhouse Square and William Penn's amazing foresight. Pennsylvania's famous founding father created the precursor to the modern-day city park with Rittenhouse and four others in 1682. Inside the LEED-certified restaurant - Philadelphia's first - you'll find a modern design aesthetic, including an abundance of artisan cocktails, wines and beers; a towering glass wine display punctuated with progressive art; an exhibition kitchen where New American cooking introduces a world of flavors that comes together on more than 40 shareable plates; and a vibe that blends casual and cosmopolitan into a distinct cool.

 Chef Guillermo Tellez Gets Global
His 20-year restaurant résumé - from the famed Charlie Trotter empire to Philadelphia's own celebrated Starr Restaurant Organization - doesn't fully account for the early years. At 13, Chef Tellez began traveling the world and encountered flavors that influence his cuisine to this day. Tellez's more traditional style of cooking is informed by modern technique and infused with creative flavor combinations distilled from his wide-roaming culinary ventures. "These influences, these flavors, shape my food - you'll see it and taste it on the Square 1682 menu," he said.

 Dishes That Start A Conversation
Square 1682's Chef Guillermo Tellez serves up small culinary adventures that change with the passing of the seasons.
Bring your curiosity as you explore New American cooking that cheerfully transports you from Asia to Mexico, then to
India and back home. His world-infused flavors and creative combinations are perfect for sharing. Each plate uses fresh
seasonal ingredients and exemplifies Chef's deep-rooted commitment to conserve the world we live in. Organic produce and
free-range meats are sourced from local farms and ranches, and he follows the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch program when creating his ocean-friendly seafood plates.

 Glass Art
The team behind Square 1682's libations department has made pivotal contributions to the restaurants diverse range of beverages.
Master Mixologist Jacques Bezuidenhout, whose drinks have been featured in the
L.A. Times, Wall Street Journal and Wine Enthusiast, has created a cocktail menu that fuses fresh seasonal
ingredients with fresh imagination, while never losing sight of those Philly favorites. Meanwhile, Master
Sommelier Emily Wines has created a thoughtful wine list encompassing great values, hidden gems and classic
picks. Her selections are proudly displayed in the cascading two-story glass wine cellar. And finally, General
Manager Thomas McAleer's array of local craft beers includes Dock Street, Dogfish Head, Stoudt's, Troegs, Victory
and Yards and more.
